Take a Break at Bliss

Too tired from shopping at the massive ION Orchard and yearn for a massage or short pampering break?

Maybe you would like to check out the little blue Bliss Spa tucked within the Sephora store. This is the first Bliss Spa service store in Singapore and provides a variety of mini-treatments such as facials, body treatments, waxing and nail care.

I was invited to try out their Tiger Paws Manicure ($28) & Tiger Paws Pedicure ($88), a festive promotion which is available till 28 February. However Bliss Spa had a really packed schedule during the Chinese New Year period and I encountered a few reschedules. Eventually, I was unable to enjoy the above services and I opted for a complimentary polish change service ($15) instead.

Despite the scheduling problems, I was glad that the experience at Bliss was still a good one.

While waiting for my turn, I was offered a cup of cold lemonade and brownies. I was also happy to see that all the equipment and towels used were properly sterilised! My nail technician, Nisa, was very attentive and professional when handling my French manicure. In addition, you would hardly get bored as there are overhead TV sets and headphones available so you could watch a TV programme while having your nails done – it was screening Ugly Betty when I was there.

The end product – I attempted a “Tiger Paw” pose.

Hello, French paws!

Bliss Spa does not provide any nail art services, although they are able to add rhinestones on your manicure at an additional cost. In addition, they use Essie nail polishes, instead of OPI.

The way Miss Glitzy sees it, Bliss Spa is a quick sanctuary for shoppers to relax, for busy executives to relieve work stress and also a quiet and quirky place for girl friends to bond or catch up over manicure or pedicure. Pricing is also relatively reasonable, and brands they use for other services include Mario Bandescu, Kose, Burt’s Bee and of course Bliss, all have garnered good reviews globally.
