There are so many elements of the skin that we have to look after. Wrinkles, spots, pores, dryness etc. And in the market, there are different products targeting different problems.

What Elizabeth Arden try to achieve with the new Prevage Day Ultra Protection Anti-Aging Moisturizer SPF 30 PA ++ (that’s the full name) is to provide a wonder product that does it all.

Elizabeth Arden gave me samples of the anti-aging night cream and the new Day moisturizer. I was told that I will be given a full size product, which has been delayed due to shipment issues. I will focus this review on the Day moisturizer since this is newly launched.

The Prevage Day moisturizer aims to protect in 3 ways:

  1. Deflect the sun with SPF 30 PA+++
  2. Combat against the effects of oxidation on the skin (which is a cause of visible signs of aging) with the powerful Idebenone, which is a clinically proven anti-oxidant. Idebenone is one of the most powerful and effective antioxidants on the market today, and is licensed to Allergan and Elizabeth Arden. It is touted to help reduce wrinkles, age spots and improve the look of firmness and sun damage.
  3. Moisturize – apparently the product provides hydration and brings more radiance to the skin

Users of the previous Prevage range products had complained of breakouts. As such, it is advised that all users of this product do a product test on the arm for 3 days first.

The moisturizer is beige in colour but surprisingly neither too overwhelming nor thick/greasy, unlike typical tinted sunblock. One pump is sufficient for the whole face and it spreads nicely, leaving a dewy finish. I use this as a makeup base every morning before I apply my foundation.

What I like about Prevage Day:

  • Non-greasy and odourless – makes it quite easy on the skin.
  • My skin feels quite well-protected with the moisturizer that I see less breakouts and there is mild radiance.
  • The huge pores on my nose seem to look smaller. My black nose strip doesn’t pull out that many black heads from the centre of the nose these days.

What I dislike about Prevage Day:

  • The price: 50 ml of this power product costs S$239.00. For all those who are interested in Prevage Day moisturizer, you may wish to sample the product first before you make the purchase decision. In conjunction with its Singapore launch, there are some promotions at the Elizabeth Arden counters where you can get a value set that contains the Day moisturizer and other Prevage products at S$199.00.
